Interlibrary loans for other libraries

Renovating UB

Libraries in Sweden, as well as in other countries, can request loans or copies from the University Library’s collections.

If you can access the Libris ordering procedure, please order in Libris.

Order in Libris (Libris interlibrary loans kb.se)

Other libraries can use our interlibrary loan service.

Request an interlibrary loan (Interlibrary loan service lub.lu.se)

Terms and conditions

Libraries cannot borrow the following materials via interlibrary loan:

  • printed journals,
  • reference materials,
  • printed items older than a hundred years,
  • manuscripts,
  • maps,
  • images,
  • printed ephemera,
  • newspapers and
  • other fragile or difficult-to-handle materials.

If there is no queue, loans will be automatically renewed. The loan period is a maximum of 12 times 28 days.

You can check your loans in the library catalogue LUBcat. Your Libris code in lowercase letters is your username, and your password is 1234.

Log in to the library catalogue (LUBcat lub.lu.se)

Libraries without the Libris code can email requests to fjarr [at] ub [dot] lu [dot] se (fjarr[at]ub[dot]lu[dot]se).

Articles from journals and material that can be copied onto 25 A4 pages are scanned and emailed to publicly funded Swedish libraries. The receiving library may not release the scanned copy electronically; the article must be printed and handed to the borrower.

Deliveries and claims

We use PostNord to pack and ship interlibrary loans from Lund University Library. If a shipment from us does not reach your library or is damaged upon arrival, we are responsible for claiming the shipment with PostNord. Please let us know within 20 days of your ILL request if your shipment hasn't arrived or is damaged.

If a shipment disappears or is damaged on its way back to us, then the borrowing library must claim with their shipping service.
