Renovating UB

This is how things work at the library during the renovation

During the renovation, the library will mainly operate on the third floor. The information desk, books, journals, printer, search computers, newspaper computer and study spaces for reading room loans will be found on this floor. Welcome!

Noise during the renovation

There will be some noise during the renovation. We are happy to hand out earplugs to help you study in the library.

We welcome you into the library on the east side of the building. The entry is opposite the Centre for Languages and Literature (SOL). The main entrance is closed during the renovation.

The reading rooms in the basement are open as usual.

The reading room Wallengren and scholars' reading rooms are open. Otherwise, the entrance and first floors are closed.

On the third floor are:

  • the information desk,
  • pickup shelf for requested books and self-service machine,
  • books and journals,
  • search computers,
  • printer and
  • newspaper computer.

The drop box is closed during the holidays

The drop box will be closed from 20 December through 6 January. 

You are welcome to return books on the third floor when the library is open on 20 December and 2–3 January.

You are also welcome to return our books to any library within Lund University.

This applies during the renovation

Our main entrance is closed. Instead, you enter and exit through the basement.

Accessibility

There is a lift. The lift does not meet accessibility requirements.

Regular opening hours apply, as far as possible. There will be some noise during the renovation, and we are happy to hand out earplugs to you.

The entrance and first floors are closed. Except for the reading room Wallengren and the scholars' reading rooms.

Return books using the library's drop box. The drop box is open 24/7. It is located on the west side of the library.

When you drop off books in the box, we register them as returned on the next working day. Working day is non-holiday, Monday to Friday.

There are few study spaces available for your use.

On the entrance floor, only the Wallengren reading room is open. Study spaces are also available on the third floor. But otherwise, the study spaces on the entrance and first floors are closed.

The bookable group study rooms on the entrance floor and the group workspaces on the third floor are closed.

The scholars' reading rooms are open.

There is a printer available in the Scriptoriet reading room.

The newspaper computer is on the third floor. For support, please visit the information desk.

The card office is closed. You cannot get a LU Card at the University Library.

Café UB is closed.

The microfilm reading rooms and the Special Collections Reading room are open.

The newspaper computer is on the third floor.

There is a printer in the basement.

The reading room Wallengren is open. All other spaces are closed.

The scholars' reading rooms are open.

The study spaces are closed, and the Swedish parliamentary documents are unavailable.

Our books will remain on the third floor along with most of what is otherwise on the entrance floor.

On this floor are:

  • the information desk,
  • pickup shelf for requested books,
  • self-service machine,
  • reading room loans,
  • books,
  • search computers,
  • printer,
  • newspaper computer,
  • DVD computer,
  • reference collection and
  • study spaces.
